CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING IN SMALL CONGREGATIONS

How are you incorporating children into the educational life of your church? Let’s exchange ideas on when to have church school (Sunday during/before worship? Midweek?), what curriculum or models seem to work best, and all those other creative ideas that I know you have for incorporating children into Sunday morning activities!

JoAnn especially wants to swat ideas and experiences with community children and youth programs or multi church children and youth programs. She’s interested in finding out if anyone else is doing this and how that works in their churches and how it is organized. She is concerned about how you then get those children or youth involved in a specific church or if the host church winds up with all the kids.

WORSHIP TEAMS AND WORSHIP PLANNING

Someone has asked about worship teams. Does anyone have one? Anyone thinking of forming one? How do you as the pastor use a worship team – and how far ahead do you plan?

REV'ING UP FOR THE FALL SEASON!

Do you do anything special for the start of Sunday School in September? Do you have a Rally Day? Or Homecoming Sunday? Any special early fall traditions?

LET'S GET BLOGGING!

As many of you know, my follow up project for the 2008 Summer Collegium was to develop a blog, so that initially we could all just keep in touch, upload photos, share thoughts, etc.

In addition, I want to provide a place where we can share worship ideas and traditions that have been successful in enhancing the seasons of the church year for our congregations. Hopefully this will include not only things we have done in past years but also ways we have incorporated what we learned at the Collegium - like choral readings and drama skits we have used, things we have tried with music, etc.

This will only be successful if all of you get into the blogging spirit and participate by initiating both posts and comments.
