Welcome to the Summer Collegium blog! The initial intent is to give 2008 participants and faculty a place to keep in touch. As Advent approaches, the purpose of the blog will shift to providing a venue throughout the church year for sharing ideas and traditions that have enhanced worship in our small church communities. All who have an interest in small membership church ministry are welcome to participate in this blog! Its success depends on YOU providing content and ideas.

REV'ING UP FOR THE FALL SEASON!
Do you do anything special for the start of Sunday School in September? Do you have a Rally Day? Or Homecoming Sunday? Any special early fall traditions?
Rally Day at Good Shepherd is a big deal - the current confirmation students escort the new students in during the opening hymn. Somewhere during the service the new students are blessed - a variety of prayers and signs of the cross - on forehead, lips, hands, shoulders, etc. Then, most years, we have some kind of bbq afterwards. With our new musician, there may be a children's choir as well. This usually happens the first Sunday after labor day and then SS begins the following Sunday. Sharon
